Heather Austin Sawrey is a nationally recognized dermatology biologics access expert and Certified Professional Coder with more than 15 years of experience supporting patients and providers in navigating the complex biologics reimbursement and access landscape. She currently serves as Lead Biologics Coordinator at George Washington University Department of Dermatology in Goldsboro, North Carolina, where she is solely responsible for managing access, prior authorizations, and ongoing therapy support for hundreds of patients on biologic treatments. Heather is widely respected for her deep expertise in managed care pharmacy approvals, utilization management criteria, PBM and specialty pharmacy pathways, and manufacturer and foundation patient assistance programs. A passionate patient advocate, she is known for achieving exceptional access outcomes while educating clinics and stakeholders on best practices for initiating and maintaining biologic therapies.
